My Experience:
My name is Jessica Bunker, and I will be teaching 7th grade math and 7th grade advanced math. This will be my first year in Quinlan, but my 23rd year in education. I'm very excited to return to the classroom this year, after spending the last 4 years as a Junior High and Secondary Math Instructional Coach. I missed working with students!
My Personal Life:
My husband (John), daughter (Katie) and I live just outside of Quinlan. My daughter just graduated high school, so I'll have a lot more spare time on my hands this year. I enjoy gardening and working in my flowerbeds, and taking care of our animals. We have cows, donkeys, chickens, dogs and cats. I also have four bonus children who are grown, and 4 grandkids.
My Educational Philosophy:
My goal is for every student to end the year with a greater sense of confidence in their mathematical abilities and stronger reasoning skills. I believe all students are capable of learning and succeeding in math. By maintaining high expectations within a positive and supportive classroom environment, I empower students to develop the perseverance needed to tackle challenging problems and apply their thinking skills to real-world situations.
