My name is Darlene Hewitt, and I am beginning my 29th year in education and my 9th year serving as a Dyslexia Therapist. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching a variety of student populations, including 1st Grade, 3rd Grade, Newcomers, English Learners, and students receiving targeted reading interventions. I have also served as an ESL Interventionist and Master Reading Teacher (MRT) Reading Coach, supporting students and teachers in developing strong literacy skills.
I completed my Dyslexia CALT training at Southern Methodist University (SMU) Language Therapy Program and Qualified Instructor (QI) training with Dyscoveread. I am passionate about helping students become confident, successful readers. My goal is to provide structured, evidence-based instruction that empowers students with dyslexia to reach their full potential. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Quinlan ISD family!
